Organizing and Storing Your Easter and Spring Decor

What’s behind all this Easter decorating?

Holiday decor puts people in a festive mood no matter what age. For many, it’s the pleasant memories and sense of nostalgia. When I first pull out my big box of Easter decorations I can almost hear the children running around the yard, baskets in hand looking for eggs….such delightful memories!

Decorating your home for the holidays used to imply a December tradition, but every year more Americans are decorating their homes for more holidays. These days it’s not uncommon to see beautiful Springtime wreaths on front doors around the neighborhood.

Today Easter collectibles and other seasonal decorations are becoming the norm. Decorating can go from Christmas right into Valentine’s Day, St. Patrick’s Day, Spring/Easter, 4th of July (which can be extended through Labor Day!), Halloween and the next thing you know its Fall with Thanksgiving and the cycle starts all over again in December. Keeping a smaller artificial tree up all year has become a popular way to keep a festive spirit going all year long. It’s relatively easy to change the theme depending on the holiday.

Since seasonal holiday decorations are typically only brought out for a short period of time each year and then stored away, consumers are challenged with how to store their treasured seasonal collectibles and keep them well organized. This is why my husband and I started Ultimate Christmas Storage over 25 years ago. We’re still making acid free, archival storage as it was originally designed; specifically to preserve and protect fragile hand-blown glass ornaments. In addition to the original fabric-covered line of storage, we've created the Archival Kraft Storage line with the same exceptional acid-free quality in a smart box that looks great as is or can be easily decorated for any holiday or special occasion.

For Easter, the individual sections in each tray are ideal for decorative eggs and an array of delicate Easter collectibles kept safe in individual cubbies. The dividers separate each item keeping things organized and preventing delicate pieces from bumping against each other and breaking. What’s more, the dividers are completely removable and adjustable so the trays can be customized to make room for a variety of seasonal pieces in different shapes and sizes including things like fine ceramic eggs or delicate bird nests, keeping everything safe and organized for next year.

To provide your fragile ornaments and delicate treasures with the maximum protection I especially like to use an acid free shredded paper for “nesting” fragile items in their own cubby. Some people prefer acid free tissue. Either option is recommended to keep fragile items from bumping around when moved. If you live in a humid area keeping humidity at bay is recommended by placing a desiccant in the box. See our quality packing supplies here.

Ultimate Christmas Storage and Ultimate Home Storage is still owned by the founding family and is proudly operated by Kathy Stanton. The entire line of Ultimate Storage products is available at www.ultimatechristmas.com.
